It turns out that Pioneer’s newest NEX radios due in March, will not only work with K40 radar detectors, but ESCORT detectors, as well.
When used with an optional iDatalink Maestro RR2 interface, five new Pioneer radios will control and display ESCORT radar functions.
Radar alerts including type of radar alert, signal strength, direction and more will appear on the radio screen. Any radar features enabled by Kenwood and JVC radios via the Maestro RR2, will now also be enabled by the RR2 on Pioneer’s new NEX radios, most of which provide a wide viewing area with 9- or-10-inch screens.
The head units will work with the ESCORT MAX Ci 360 and iX Ci custom installed radar detectors as well as the MAX 360c dash-mount model.
“This furthers our entire story on aftermarket integration. It’s a huge part of our future and we see more success working with other companies and other products,” said , said Brady Siebert, ESCORT Director of Sales.
Compatible Pioneer radios include the following models, which also feature built-in Alexa control, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto wireless, as well as SiriusXM capability:
- DMH-WT8600NEX
- DMH-WT7600NEX
