Diamond Audio is shipping a series of Motorsport waterproof amplifiers that may be submerged in 3 feet of water for up to a half hour.
A total of four amplifiers are available at suggested retail prices from $479.99 to $749.99 in 1-, 2-, 4-, and 6-channel configurations.
All are IPX67 rated and use military spec multi-layer circuit boards.
Power output on the DXM600.2D 2 channel amplifier is 300 watts x 2 at 2 ohms or 200 watts x 2 at 4 ohms. The DXM1200.1D mono amp delivers 1200 watts at 1 ohm or 800 watts at 2 ohms.
Joining these are the 4-channel DXM800.4D that delivers 200 watts x 4 at 2 ohms or 125 watts x 4 at 4 ohms and the 6-channel DXM1000.6D that delivers 150 watts x 6 at 2 ohms or 100 watts x 6 at 4 ohms.
Additionally, Diamond Audio and sister company Cerwin Vega are shipping new horn tweeters designed especially for motorcycles. The 1-inch horn tweeters offer a 12dB per octave passive crossover instead of the usual 6dB per octave. Suggested retail pricing is from $159 to $229/pair under Cerwin Vega.
The Diamond horn tweeters include 5 models and they replace the original Diamond horn tweeter, model MSPRO1ST. The line includes a new phase plug that delivers a smoother response. The new M1SRT has a shorter depth for easier mounting. It measures 5/8th inch shorter than the typical horn tweeter. The MO1T replaces Diamond’s original horn tweeter. Both have threaded mounts. The M01SWT has a swivel mount of 5 degrees for aiming the tweeter. The M075T is a “ring radiator” type of tweeter that is very shallow at only 1 3/8th inches deep. It can be used in a car on a door or pillar, where most horn tweeter are too deep. The line runs from about $199 to $249/pair.
