A VOXX rear seat video system will be one of the prizes on The Price is Right, June 7 on CBS, as a means of exposing aftermarket car video to a wide audience.
This marks the first time VOXX’s Mobile Video group has appeared on the show, said a VOXX spokesperson.
The product to be featured is a Universal Seatback Smart System with two 10.1-inch monitors. The parent can control the system via his or her phone, without craning around to face the rear seat. The system has a street price of $1,299.99.
Directed also featured a Viper remote start product on The Price is Right earlier this year and has offered a prize six times on the show. It may be on the show an additional 5 to 10 times this year, said Director of Marketing Chris Pearson.
The Price is Right hits a weekly audience of about 4 to 5 million viewers. It is one of the longest-running network series in TV history, according to Wikipedia.
VOXX Electronics VP Vehicle Entertainment Joe Caltabiano said, “The general population viewing the show will now have exposure to a very viable and relatable Rear Seat Entertainment option for vehicles. Bringing 12v products to the mainstream is the only way to grow business.”
He noted that today, most people learn of rear seat video options only from 12 volt or car dealers. “Most consumers today would not even know where to go to have a video system installed in their vehicle or if such options even exist. The demand for In-Vehicle Entertainment has always been there since it was introduced two decades ago but the exposure to consumers has not. This is a gateway to bringing 12v products into the spotlight, to all demographics, wherever the show is aired. As a manufacturer, we are trying to help our retail community grow product awareness through our social media campaigns and by partnering with high visibility outlets such as The Price is Right.”
