Kenwood USA , Alpine Electronics and Rockford Corporation will raise prices on select 12 volt products effective June 1,  in response to the tariff rate on Chinese goods increasing from 10 to 25 percent this month.

Alpine told dealers it will raise prices on a total of 20 car radios, amplifiers and cameras.  The increases range from about $50 to $150. Dealer cost, minimum advertising pricing (MAP) and suggested retail prices were all increased, according to retailers.   Some examples include the Halo9 iLX-F309, which sees a suggested retail price increase from $1,100 to $1,200, and the PDX-V9, which goes from $750 to $900. The  X-A90M goes from $550 to $650.

Rockford told retailers it will raise prices on amplifier and Bluetooth products including marine source units, and powersports and motorcycle systems. The increases range from about $10 on an accessory to $50 on an amplifier and up to $150 on a full powersports system.  Both dealer costs and MAP prices were raised.

A Rockford T400X2AD Power amplifier goes from a street price of  $309.99 to $329.99. A Prime R1200-1D goes from $409.99 to $439,99.

Kenwood price increase on amplifiers range from about $20 to $200 in street prices. The XR600-6DSP went from $800 to $1,000 and the XR601-1 went from $350 to $450.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) said consumer electronics companies collectively are now paying about $1 billion more in tariffs each month, since tariffs on Chinese goods were enacted last year.

President Trump is also considering levying a 25 percent tariff on an additional $300 billion in Chinese goods.  Technology products make up over half the value of those products, says the CTA.
