Metra Electronics is launching at the SEMA Show next week, new T-harnesses to allow its AX-DSP digital signal processor/interface to work specifically with Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The AX-DSP-HD1 is designed for Harley-Davidson 1998-2013 applications and the AX-DSP-HD2 is for  2014-up models. Both T-harnesses work with the AX-DSP, which adds digital signal processing to improve the audio response.  Users can then control the DSP via a smartphone or tablet over Bluetooth (see video here).

The AX-DSP is especially helpful when the user wants to upgrade the audio of his bike, but keep the radio.  It provides a simple way to forgo all the built-in DSP in the factory amplifier allowing a clean signal for aftermarket amplifiers and speakers.  Many of the 1998-2013 Harley motorcycles come with factory amplifiers, and the newer models include higher end amplifiers, said Metra.

Metra will also display at the SEMA Show, a new dash kit for  newer Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra and Limited models.   The 95-9700 has been designed to fit ISO Double-DIN radios that have an “L” shaped chassis with the radio chassis at the top of the screen. Currently, only the Sony XAV-AX100, XAV-AX200 and XAV-AX500 radios use this design, Metra said.     The dash kit works with 2014-up Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra and Limited models and 2015-up Road Glide models.

Also on display will be Heise LED Lighting’s first replacement LED headlights designed for Victory Motorcycles.  They work with the Victory 2007-2015 Cross-Country, Cross-Country Tour, Cross Roads, and Hard Ball motorcycle models.

The replacement LED headlights use a 60-watt high beam and 40-watt low beam that produce 3,450 and 2,800 lumens, respectively. The headlights are made with a  polycarbonate lens and have die-cast aluminum housing. The lights have a 6500k color temperature and will be available in silver (HE-VICS1) or black (HE-VICB1).
