Audiofrog will introduce a new lower cost speaker that nearly cuts in half the the entry price for an Audiofrog component system.
The new G60S two-way system brings the entry speaker price down to $399/pair from the previous low price of $750/pair for the GS series, which remains in the lineup. Shipping of the new speakers is expected in May or June.
The G60S includes a 6-inch driver and 1-inch tweeter. The speakers can be separated to be placed into factory locations.
Audiofrog Founder Andy Wehmeyer said, “I’m willing to go on record that these will be the best sounding $399 component systems on the market.”
The woofer uses a polypropylene cone and dust cap with 1-inch copper voice coil. It has mounting depth of 51 mm (2 1/64 inches). The tweeter is a 1-inch polyester soft dome with neodymium magnet and bucking magnet copper polepiece cap for low distortion.
The speakers mount in factory locations as follows:
- Mounting Diameter (Flush): 48mm (1-29/32″)
- Mounting Depth (Flush): 15mm (19/32″)
The G60S uses inline crossovers. It is rated at 55 watt RMS power handling.
