Never say the 12 volt industry doesn’t have heart!
The GoFundMe campaign CEoutlook set up to help Houston dealers hurt by Hurricane Harvey raised $14,200! We were hoping for $5,000!
Shawn Simpson of Momentum Marketing in Houston tirelessly called on local dealers to find out who needed help; talking to salesmen, installers, store owners and managers and listening to their tales of underwater homes and businesses. With Simpson’s help, we identified 12 members of the industry at 8 car audio shops to be recipients of your donations.
Companies including Metra, Directed and Davis Distribution generously contributed, along with GROM Audio and many individual members of our industry. Other companies such as Maxxsonics and Scosche donated to other Houston charities. And JVCKenwood offered digital radio equipment to help victims communicate in hurricane afflicted areas including Texas.
Simpson on his own collected tools and goods for local installers. He received 650 pounds of tools including cordless drills, nail guns, soldering irons, digital volt meters, circular saws, sockets, screw drivers and more. Rockford alone donated close to $4,000 worth of tools, supplies, clothing, bedding and more.
After GoFundMe took a cut of the proceeds, all the remaining funds of $13,092 went to employees, owners or managers at the following locations:
Cartek, South Houston; Apex Car Audio, Orange, TX; Motion Audio, Orange, TX; House of Sound, Houston; Wicked Off-Road, Beaumont, TX; CW Tint, Liberty, TX; H-Town Car Stereo, Houston and Carro Audio & Tint, Houston.
On behalf of Shawn and I, we can’t thank you enough!
