Kenwood said it will ship 8 new multimedia receivers in July and August, all of which support Kenwood’s DRV-N520 Dash Cam. They can display video from the camera on the radio screen.
The dash cam is controlled by the touch screen of the radio. The receiver will also display warnings from the safety features of the camera such as collision avoidance and when the vehicle in front starts to move forward.
Moving from a 6.2” screen to 6.8” allowed Kenwood to increase the number of Android Auto compatible models in the line from four in 2016 to nine in 2017 (including the 6.95” DMX7704S).
In Hi-Res Audio, Kenwood is now compatible with the DSD (Direct Stream Digital) format.
Half of the new AV radios are eXcelon models.
The models being released in July all feature:
- Dash Cam Ready (Supporting the DRV-N520)
- 7” screen
- CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
- Additional Hi-Resolution audio format capabilities with the inclusion of DSD
The August releases feature:
- 6.8” touch screens – first time KENWOOD and eXcelon receivers. The switch also allows us to expand our offering of Android Auto compatible models into sub 7” screen models
- CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
- Dash Cam Ready (Supporting the DRV-N520)
