Tint World sells about $25 million in products, services, and labor.  It’s number two category, car audio & electronics accounts for $5 and $10 million in annual sales plus another 20 to 30 percent or so in labor, said the chain.

That would place Tint World car audio revenues at between $6 million and $13 million. So the franchise chain, with 54 stores, is actually one of the leading car audio chains on a par with top specialists such as Sound of Tristate, DE and Drive In Autosound, CO as you can see in the chart here.

An advantage for Tint World is that it’s poised for high growth and those numbers could rise dramatically.  The franchise chain hopes to open 30 stores this year.

It is also investing heavily in its shops.  Tint World is rolling out a new online store for car audio, truck accessories and wheels and tires. Each franchise will get its own online store connected to a main web store.  Orders will be fulfilled automatically through a new point of sale system.

CEO Charles Bonfiglio said the store will “Ramp up our mobile electronics sales in a big way…companies selling a lot of mobile electronics like CarToys, they sell a lot online.  Even if it’s leads from online.  Once we’re SEO optimized we’ll be found more easily for those products.  This will lead to more sales online and in the stores. We’re hoping to grow same store sales and mobile electronics in big ways.”

The online store had a soft launched in 6 to 8 Tint World locations so far, in a test roll out.

The company is also rolling out new car audio displays, the first of which is being installed presently at a new Ft. Myers, FL location.

The chain recently added Arc Audio and VOXX as vendors.

“We’re absolutely growing in mobile electronics and grabbing market share. Even if the market shrinks, there’s still a lot of money out there to be made,” said Executive VP Paul Pirro.

He noted a lot of the Tint World staff comes from the car audio industry. “John Marsh who is our senior operations manager won the Sound Quality Expert World Championship with his Eclipse at the 2016 finals….Having the person who owns the Expert World title for sound quality as an in the field trainer allows our stores to sell sound quality.  This is one reason we have added Arc Audio.  We also carry Mosconi, Illusion Audio, Focal and Memphis. We push sound quality…we’re all about sound.”

FYI, it costs about $100,000 to become a Tint World franchisee.
