AAMP Global announced it is implementing a Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) policy on PAC and Echomaster products to protect profit margins for dealers.
The company is placing serial numbers on the products and tracking both inbound and outbound products. It is hiring a MAP administrator to police the policy. Wholesale distributors will be required to track outbound products.
Those who violate MAP will be penalized or ultimately cut off, said the company.
Senior VP of Sales Scott Forst said “Everyone puts MAP on their price sheet but they don’t have a true MAP policy…We are putting the resources behind it with staff, and serializing in bound products from Asia and logging it across 5 facilities. There’s a lot of expense to truly implementing the policy.”
Existing PAC products will be released with slightly different model numbers and as they are released, they will be serialized and placed on the new MAP system.
The program will start next week.
“We recognize the investments our brick and mortar retailers are making and the effect margin compression caused by online price erosion can have, especially within the AAMP portfolio of accessories. AAMP invests large amounts of resource to engineer, develop and market these products, our mission with the new policy is to secure the margins our retail partners need to be successful,” said Forst.
AAMP Global is display at the SEMA Show November 1-4, Booth 11817, North Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center.

Congratulations to AAMP for implementing such a policy and a pox on the idiot who thought of MAP in the first place. I’m glad my shop is the big fish in a small sea.
A QUALIFIED BRAVO !!!
QUALIFIED because of the cynicism created when the claim for creating, executing, and ENFORCING such policies is not followed through by the vendor trust is diminished all the way through the supply chain.
BRAVO because when a vendor actually takes control of his brand’s identity the increase in trust all the way through the supply chain is good for all.
We need this.
Very, Very, good news. Other vendors have done this and the ones that are really committed to it have made a marked improvement in the end for their dealers bottom line. I hope AAMP is successful bringing more profit to the 12-Volt Specialist. We need them (12-Volt Specialists) to survive and thrive if we are going to have a future together.
I heard this story so many times!!!!
Does this mean that pac and best kits websites will continue to display MSRP or ONLY MAP Pricing?
Awesome.
Naysayers will say it won’t help, doesn’t matter, etc.
Anarchy obviously doesn’t work, so if it even helps some, it’s a win. Good job guys.
