GCH Automotive announced new interfaces for the Honda Pilot, Ridgeline and General Motors 7-inch radios that add touchscreen navigation using the original factory screen.

The blackbox add on interface lets you keep all factory components.  But with a long press on the screen the radio converts to a navigation interface using the touch screen controls from the radio.

It works with the 2016-2017 Honda Pilot and Ridgeline and the new General Motors 7-inch radios.  Previously GM offered either 4.2-inch or 8-inch radios.  In newer models it discontinued the 4.2 inch models and replaced them with 7-inch radios but there is no option for navigation in the 7-inch format, said GCH Automotive’s Greg Delgado.

Some of the interfaces also move beyond the typical backup camera input and offer multiple camera inputs for Left/Right and Front cameras.

Delgado said, “As you know, GCH takes a different approach to the traditional “navigation upgrade” whereby we actually retain the vehicles’ original factory radio.  We find that doing this not only protects the functionality and aesthetics of the vehicle, but it makes the consumers user experience far much easier.”

GCH also provides interfaces for the Honda Accord, Odyssey, Civic, and CRV/HRV, as well as Toyota and GM models.
