Wet Sounds won a 2016 Innovation Award at the International Boat Builders’ Exhibition (IBEX) this week.
Its SYN-DX6-DSP amplifier tied as the winner in the OEM Electronics category. To our knowledge it was the only marine audio product to win an Ibex Innovation Award this year.
The SYN-DX6 can be programmed via DSP so boat builders may tune it to suit different boat models. The manufacturer may set parameters on each SYN-DX6-DSP in assembly line fashion using a USB drive that includes uniform settings for the gain, crossovers and other features to suit a particular boat model.
The Class D amplifier with DSP is based on the aftermarket Wet Sound SYN-DX line and will be offered in the aftermarket, possibly later this year, said Wet Sounds.
The IBEX Innovation Award is judged by the Boating Writers International organization.
The IBEX Show is taking place in Tampa Bay, FL from October 4-6.
