Ex-Clarion Managers Find New 12V Roles

Robin McNeal former Clarion National Sales Manager has taken a new post at RetroSound.  Additionally Leigh Powell, former Clarion Eastern Regional Sales Manager has taken a post at Harman.

McNeal is now VP and General Manager of Retro Manufacturing.  RetroSound says it is the only supplier of radios for vintage classic cars cars to offer Apple compatibility, Bluetooth and now SiriusXM.  It produces radios with current features in vintage radio styling.

McNeal served at Clarion for 10 months and prior to that was VP Sales & Marketing at PowerBass for over 11 years. He said, “Retro Manufacturing offers a full line of radios, speakers, antennas, seat belts and more all designed specifically for the classic car market. I am very pleased to offer my services in the areas of sales, marketing and management to such an innovative and growing company.”

Powell joined Harman in May as as Field Sales & Dealer Support Specialist, Eastern US.  He works with sales reps at Harman to call on dealers and help with product training.  He reports to Harman Senior Sales Manager, Mobile Aftermarket Glenn Ihrke.

As reported, Director of Product Planning for Clarion, Augustin Leung, took a position earlier this year at AAMP Global as Senior Product Manager for Rosen.

Clarion announced its exit from brick and mortar car audio retailers in March of this year.  It continues to sell to online retailers Crutchfield, Sonic Electronix and Amazon. It also continues its traditional car audio sales in Canada.  And it sells marine audio to traditional retailers in the US.
