EchoMaster, (AAMP Global) introduced a new blind spot camera designed to improve visibility and reduce the risk of accidents.

The PCAM-BS1 can be mounted on multiple areas of a vehicle.  When placed under side mirrors, it improves driver visibility during lane changes.  When paired with a PAC BCI video interface, or with EchoMaster’s rearview mirror PMM-7333-PL,  the camera will automatically turn on when a turn signal is in use.  See video here.

The PCAM-BS1 has a flexible base and self-adhesive design.

The camera operates at 0.1 LUX and uses a ¼” CMOS sensor, which consumes minimal power, making it ideal for use in car camera systems. It is also IP67 rated for water and dust resistance.

About 840,000 car accidents in the US each year are caused by visibility problems in a driver’s blind spots, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  Of these, 300 result in fatalities.
