EchoMaster, an AAMP Global company, announced one of the first blind spot monitoring systems designed for a specific truck. And it said the system, built for the Silverado, will be offered through the General Motors Aftermarket Accessory line.
The new IntelliHaul system will be the first of many truck-specific blind spot monitoring camera systems to come from EchoMaster. And future systems will be offered through aftermarket retailers, said AAMP’s Brad Chapple.
IntelliHaul for GM replaces part of the Silverado’s side mirrors with a plastic camera pod that provides a video feed of the sides of the truck so the driver may check for blind spots.
There’s also a video feed from a 2.4g wireless camera that monitors a trailer hitch. The images are made viewable with a 4-camera switching interface that works with the truck’s infotainment screen. Users can also add a fourth 2.4g wireless camera.
It’s offered by GM as a towing assist system but it also helps with general driving and parking. It works specifically with the 2014 -2016 GM Silverado 1500 and Silverado Heavy Duty OEM infotainment systems and comes with a wiring harness for simple installation for a total package price of $999.
The cameras are triggered by left and right turn signals and by switching into reverse or they can be manually activated by the driver at any time while driving down the road.
Scott Forst, AAMP Senior Vice President of Sales, said, “Safety continues to be a concentration through the industry, and we feel these emerging technologies coupled with AAMP’s core competency of OE integration builds an entire new product category with a robust product road we are calling integrated safety. The IntelliHaul system is a prime example of this and we could not be more excited to launch with a partner like General Motors.”
IntelliHaul is available now.

So this model is not available for 12V retailers to sell? Just want to be clear.
I don’t believe this model is available to the aftermarket at present. But future truck-specific systems will be available to the aftermarket.
