JVC Mobile Entertainment is shipping two powersports audio receivers for boats and off-road vehicles.
One receiver provides audio streaming from a smartphone (KD-X33MBS) and the other adds a CD player and variable illumination (KD-R97MBS). Both have USB-connected iPhone control with Siri Eyes Free and they can connect to an Android phone and provide 1.5-amp charging.
They offer Bluetooth, 13-band equalizer, Pandora and iHeartRadio control and SiriusXM capability. Suggested retail prices are $129.95 for the X33MBS and $149.95 for the R97MBS.
Both receivers can power new JVC powersports oversized coaxial speakers. The receivers offer 50 watts per channel. They may also connect to amplifiers with three sets of 4-volt outputs. Built-in K2 technology expands the bit rate and frequency range to restore frequencies from compressed music.
The CS-DR6200M / CS-DR6201MW coaxial powersports speakers ($119.95) include a one-inch balanced dome tweeter and 6.5-inch waterproof polypropylene cone woofer. They handle 50 watts RMS / 150 watts peak and have UV-resistant grilles.
