Cerwin-Vega Mobile is now shipping its RPM (Recreation. Powersport. Marine.) tower speakers that use speaker pods with specially engineered materials instead of the typical plastic injection molded enclosures in most speakers.
Cerwin-Vega said its enclosures use materials originally designed for the aerospace industry, which are UV treated and use a mixture of a high density and non-porous ceramic and fiberglass resin that is combined with crushed natural mineral composites. The enclosures have the strength similar to Corian.
Under RPM Stroker are high output tower speakers in four 6.5” models, in white, black, carbon fiber white and carbon fiber black.
Under RPM Vega are 8” tower speaker systems in the same colors and finishes.
Both lines are IP65 compliant from infiltration of dust and water.
Both lines use a thermal molded, UV-coated speaker with a patent-pending waterproof composite paper cone.
They have integrated RGB LED lighting (fixed or audio sensing mode) and come with 360° mounting brackets/clamps.
The Stroker models use high-output 25mm titanium dome tweeters with an ultra compact neodymium motor structure and include an integrated passive radiator for increased frequency range.
The Vega speakers use a 20mm PEI dome tweeter.
Stroker tower speakers range from $499.99 to $629.99 and the Vega tower speakers range from $379.99 to $459.99.
