It’s not every day that car audio, or audio is recognized for creating jobs. But that was the case on Monday, when JL Audio was officially honored for job creation in the State of Florida, with a visit from Governor Rick Scott.
JL Audio is adding 30 new jobs at an average annual wage of $44,579, making it eligible for a $105,000 economic incentives package from Florida and local governments.
In addition, the company has added a full 122 jobs in the past three years for a total of over 300.
As we reported last year, JL Audio moved its marine manufacturing from China back to the US to ensure quality control and it expanded its powersports audio production lines.
Last year it said it had 11 production lines in Miramar, FL and it expected to add one or two lines a year over the next few years.
JL said it has expanded into over 156,000 square feet of factory space.
Currently, more than half of JL Audio products are made in Florida.
On Monday, three JL employees were honored by the governor: Curtis Johnson, Elena Olivier, and Leo Samaroo. Andy Oxenhorn, JL Audio President and Jim Birch, Director of Human Resources received the Governor’s Business Ambassador Medals and award.
JL Audio said its marine audio sales were up by double digits last year and it hopes to see another double digit jump this year. “We have experienced unprecedented customer demand for our marine products, especially the products made in the USA…. We are also entering the powersports audio market in 2016,” said Robert Oxenhorn, Director of Finance and Accounting.

Great to hear this…nice work guys!
It’s a really good thing happening to a really good company, JL Audio. I have been fortunate enough to have spent a couple days at the JL Audio Headquarters and it’s 1st rate from top to bottom. JL Audio’s adherence to their core philosophy of dealing with specialist is a testament to that business model. Thank you.
