ESCORT announced at CES that its custom installed Passport 9500ci radar detector will soon work with OEM dashboards, displaying the radar detector warnings on the instrument cluster screen.
It achieves this through an interface into the the car’s bus system provided by NAV-TV. The first of the NAV-TV interfaces are compatible with late model Porsche vehicles, said ESCORT. The Porsche factory screen above the steering wheel will display all information currently shown on the 9500ci’s display module, including radar warnings and red light and speed camera alerts.
The Beltronics STiR custom installed radar detector will also work with a NAV-TV interface to link to the Porsche instrument cluster.
The NAV-TV interface is expected to be available early in Q2.
ESCORT and Beltronics radar detectors are on display at CES in booth 1315 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
