Rydeen Mobile Electronics is now shipping two new cameras in its Advanced Vehicle Technology series.
The CM-S500 “Omni Cam” is a waterproof, compact camera in an aluminum alloy case that can be mounted anywhere around the car. It may be used as a side camera for blind spot viewing with an included turn signal trigger. Or it can be a backup camera with the included reverse trigger. The CM-S500 uses the latest in Super CMOS IV and Night Vision technology and gives you the option of removing distance grid lines. Suggested retail price is $170.
The CM-D500 includes a pair of CM-S500 cameras that can be used as a complete blind spot viewing system with triggers for both left and right turn signals. It has a key advantage over competing blind zone detection systems that alert you only by LED and only when a vehicle has already entered the blind zone. With the CM-D500, you can turn on either side camera for a complete view before changing lanes. The cameras are waterproof to IP68K standards and include removable grid lines. The system has a suggested retail price of $300.
Rydeen says both models are easy to install, with each camera able to be adjusted to its preferred angle. A tool is supplied for angle adjustments. They also use a universal RCA output for use with “any universal RCA input monitor/LCD, with the ACC to keep the power constant, turn signals to trigger and ground. Depending on what monitor you are using and the capability, it can display the video without any delay,” said Rydeen.
