The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) this week gave 33 TV and radio interviews on aftermarket connected car products in a consumer awareness campaign that could reach your market.
The TV and radio spots are expected to air in cities across the country over the next two weeks, and local retailers may take advantage of them. First, if your market is on the list below, you can call the local TV or radio station and introduce yourself as an expert that can be helpful for future stories. Also, the CEA will release videos of the interviews as they air, which you can promote on social media as an educational tool. When a local station features backup cameras, CarPlay and lane departure warning, it helps legitimize the categories so the customer.
You can see one of the TV spots that aired in Chicago below (sorry, there’s a 15 second ad beforehand).
Techlicious editor Suzanne Kantra was the spokesman for the interviews, which explain that drivers don’t need to buy a new car to get advanced connected car features. MECP was also mentioned as a resource for ensuring that the products are installed properly.
Some of the featured products include VOXX’s lane departure warning/crash warning system, a Brandmotion mirror with backup camera, AAMP Tranzit BLU Bluetooth streaming, Pioneer NEX CarPlay/Android Auto receivers, Cobra’s Drive HD Dashcam and Viper’s upcoming remote start app for the Apple Watch.
