Rosen Entertainment said that it won a ruling in a patent dispute with TMI Products (Vizualogic) that has been in litigation for years.

On April 2, a federal court of appeals affirmed an earlier ruling stating Rosen did not infringe on TMI’s Patent No. 7,597,393 relating to headrests that have an integrated DVD/LCD video screen.

Specifically, the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Federal Circuit, affirmed Judge Klausner’s ruling in District Court last year that Rosen’s AV7900 and CS9000 headrest monitor systems did not infringe TMI’s patent.

Rosen said it has continued to sell the AV7900 and CS9000 systems throughout this dispute, and will continue to do so.

Rosen said it holds numerous patents for in-vehicle entertainment,”including the pioneering patents which established the overhead entertainment video category in 1996,” said Curt Kucera, Rosen VP Engineering and Operations.

TMI said it had no comment on the matter at this time.
