Cerwin-Vega Mobile will ship its first powered active subwoofer, which it claims offers louder audio than other devices its size.

The VPAS10 uses an active 10-inch subwoofer amplified for 200 watt RMS power @ 2 ohms, 400 watts max.   It measures 13.6 x 9.6 x 2.6 inches and is designed for installation in cramped spaces.

“There are numerous 6.5-inch and 8-inch active subwoofer products in this category that are OK, but for the VEGA Nation we step up the game with a 10-inch because our customers demand maximum performance no matter what product it is.  With that said, the VPAS10 will play louder while housed in a small footprint cast frame that’s comparable in size to what’s out there in the market place now,” said Larry Frederick, New Product Development Manager for Cerwin-Vega Mobile.

The VPAS10 uses a PWM MOSFET power supply with an integrated thermal protection circuit.  It has auto power turn on, bass boost, adjustable input sensitivity, phase switch, and RCA and High-Level Inputs.

It is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2015 from $299.99 – $349.99.
