AAMP of America announced a new President and CEO will replace current chief executive Ron Freeman who becomes Chairman.
Effective January 7, David Klatt assumes the chief executive role. Klatt has led consumer brands including Sharpie, Paper Mate and has played senior leadership roles in marketing, sales and management for Black & Decker, DeWalt Tools and Airclic.
Freeman will now focus on acquisitions, strategic partnerships and new channel development.
He said there was a need to add more executive power to AAMP as the company has rapidly expanded and diversified, acquiring 7 companies over recent years.
“I am very excited to join AAMP of America and partner with Ron to help realize the full potential of this organization,” said Klatt who was recently President of Newell Rubbermaid’s global writing segment which includes Sharpie, Paper Mate, Expo and Dymo printers.
AAMP of America is owned by Audax Group, a private equity group with over $6 billion in assets.
AAMP brands include Stinger, PAC, iSimple, INTRAPHEX, Phoenix Gold, P.I.E., Select Products, American International, Armour Automotive, Best Kits & Harnesses and Sound Quest.
