Jensen is introducing its first multimedia DVD/radios to include HDMI/MHL connections for mirroring from a smartphone.
The feature is available on Jensen’s 7000 Series VX7012 single DIN and the VX7022 double DIN DVD receivers. Through HDMI/MHL, users can view their smartphone apps on the larger screen of the car radio with touch screen control and charging. The radios also now support the AAC Codec.
The decks also supply built-in navigation, Bluetooth, music streaming, and video playback. You also get app support and control for Android, iPhone and BlackBerry devices. They use iGo Primo navigation and have a front full-sized USB with 2.1 amp charging, and SD Card slots, plus a learning steering wheel control interface. Both are SiriusXM radio ready and have a rear camera input.
Suggested retail pricing is $399 each for the VX7012 with 7-inch screen and VX7022 with 6.2-inch screen, with shipping in mid April.
Jensen is also celebrating the 100th anniversary of the loudspeaker, co developed by Peter Jensen in 1915. Jensen went on to found Jensen Radio Manufacturing in 1925.
Jensen products are on display at the CES Show this week at Central Hall Booth 10417 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
