Alpine Electronics has teamed with Chrysler to create a new premium audio option that is offered on the 2015 Jeep Wrangler.
The new 9-speaker, 552 watt system is an option for all trim levels of the new Wrangler and is standard on the Rubicon Hard Rock Edition.
It includes an 8 by 12-inch subwoofer that is bolted to the vehicle chassis so you “feel” the bass vibrations. It passed tests for silt and sediment build-up and was submerged under water at full power for 96 hours in performance tests.
The system is powered by a 12-channel 552 watt amplifier that is linked to the CAN-BUS of the vehicle so the amplifier re-equalizes the system when the hard top is removed.
Also included is a “sound bar” that houses 3.5- and 6.5-inch speakers.
You can see a video of the system here.
