Rosen Doubles GM Screen Size

Rosen adds navigation to GM

Rosen Electronics will ship in November a new line of FIT add-on electronics for General Motors SUVs and trucks.

The new interfaces let you add navigation and a camera to certain GM vehicles with 4.2-inch display screen radios, converting them to 8-inch radios.

They basically replace the center dash panel in 2015 Chevy Suburban/Tahoe, 2015 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, 2014-15 Chevy Silverado and 2014-15 GMC Sierra trucks. So instead of a 4.2-inch display, you now get a high definition 8-inch touchscreen and an HDMI input to display smartphone content.

Models include the Rosen GMSeries4 and GMSeries5.  They allow users to retain factory Bluetooth and all OEM MyLink audio functions.

Rosen said its system actually provides easier factory control of MyLink features.  The interfaces provide one step controls from the factory radio where in some cases they requires multiple steps from the factory.

  1. It is quite a bit more than double in size. The 4.2″ and 8″ measurements are relative to the diagonal measurement, not the the actual viewing area.
