Harman made waves at CES in January with the announcement of the company’s first car-specific system to take form as a JBL speaker/amp system for a Jeep Wrangler.

After receiving dealer feedback the company will launch its first sound system custom made for a specific vehicle to the Ford F 150 followed by the Chevy Silverado.

Harman expects to debut a prototype system for the F 150 in a couple of weeks that will include a 12-channel digital amplifier as well as speakers and a subwoofer specifically tuned, time aligned and equalized for the vehicle.

At CES, a number of suppliers including Rockford and Elettromedia also showed car specific systems for the first time, as the category is seen as a future growth channel.
