Microsoft claims its new super lightweight, larger Surface Pro 3 with a 12-inch screen is also a laptop that can actually be used with a keyboard, on your lap.
It has a kick stand that works at multiple angles and it can actually rest on your lap, as reviewed here by Ars Technica.
It’s guts are that of a full notebook PC with an Intel Core i3- i7 processor depending on the model you choose, but it weighs only 1.7 ounces, lighter than most ultrabooks (but heavier than some tablets).
Engadget noted, “In addition to being the biggest, highest-res Surface yet, though, it’s also the thinnest-ever product with an Intel Core i7 processor. All told, the thing measures just 9.1mm (0.36 inch) thick, putting it on par with an older-gen iPad — incredible when you remember this is more akin to an Ultrabook than a tablet.”

The Surface Pro 3 runs Windows 8.1 Pro, and can multi-task with open side by side windows. It includes a Surface Pen with pressure sensitivity. Storage ranges from 64GB to 512GB.
