JVC Announces Details on HDMI Receivers

JVC announced details on  two new car AV receivers it previewed in November with HDMI inputs and MHL software for smartphone mirroring on the radios.

The receivers support display of video and apps for iPhone 5 series phones and MHL-based Android phones.   Three additional non-HDMI AV receivers will also launch in 2014 for a line that starts at $349 suggested retail price.

HDMI receivers include the top off the line KW-V50BT DVD/radio with 7-inch fully motorized variable color WVGA display. It has Bluetooth, rear USB port with 2-way iPod control and App Link Mode that works with 20 apps (display and control) on an iPhone 4 series phone.  The unit is SiriusXM-ready, compatible with Pandora Internet Radio and iHeart Radio, and also features 4 Volt Front, Rear, and Subwoofer Line Outputs.  It will ship in April at $649.95 suggested retail price.

The KW-V30BT is similar but with a 6.1-inch WVGA display with rotary volume control dial and front AUX input jack. It will ship in in March at $549.95.

Other new DVD/radios for 2014 include the KW-V40BT, which is similar to the V50BT but without the HDMI input. The receiver ships this month at $499.95.

The KW-V20BT is similar to the V30BT but without the HDMI input.  It ships in January at $399.95.

A similarly featured KW-V10 DVD/radio without Bluetooth will also be available in January at of$349.95.
