This past weekend was the first time that the 4 leading car audio competition groups held a joint finals, attracting 250 competitors, by some accounts.
The USACI organization said it saw 7 world records over the weekend at the Car Audio Championship in Huntsville, AL, with a top sound pressure level (SPL) winner at 180.1 dB.
MECA said it had more sound quality competitors than ever before at the event with over 50 SQ competitors.
But another world record might be the number of marriage proposals at the event: 2 by reports we’ve heard, including one we received permission to mention.
Competitor Gary Killian, winner of the dB Drag Racing 2013 Bass Race (140 to 149.9) with an SPL score of 149.9, proposed to Leslie Brunetta during the event. The proposal was accepted and the engagement ring was fashioned after Killian’s championship ring. Killian, 47, is a native of Red Bluffs, CA. Congratulations!
