Car Tech Demo Days

For the first time, car audio will get its own Demo Days for retailers, just as the home audio market, through the Consumer  Electronics Association (CEA).

CEA has teamed up with the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA) to create a national demo days campaign to be held at car audio retailers to help get consumers excited about the holiday season.

CEA and MERA retail members will hold in-store product demos and promotions for the public from November 9 to 11.

To promote the event, retailers will be given online tools for email and fliers in a program that usually costs $2,500 as it includes an a deal with Revenew who virtually creates fliers and email campaigns for you.

You send Revenew your email list (which is protected and remains your property solely) and they handle the campaign for you.

Do defray the cost of the Revenew service, car audio suppliers are sponsoring the event, called “Car Tech Demo Days.”  Sponsors include Directed, iSimple, Kenwood, Clifford, SiriusXM, Cobra and others to be announced.

The program is designed to help retailers market during the pre-holidays through any means they like, including private in-store sales, demo nights and sound off contests, to help increase traffic.  It is also designed to help raise awareness about car audio, said MERA President Chris Cook.

Similar Demo Days have been held for the past couple of years for home audio, resulting in close to 50 million online impressions and 50,000 email opens by consumers.

“The dealers demo whatever they want.  The program is to get consumers excited for the holiday season about car audio, navigation and other products,” said Suzanne Martin, Chief Marketing Officer for Revenew.

To explain the program a webinar will be held Tuesday, September 24 from 10-10:30 am Central Time.
