NAV-TV is shipping the first add-on kits with Garmin navigation for factory MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch radios, it said.
Users get a Garmin user interface with touch screen controls for their radio as well as steering wheel controls, essentially adding factory navigation to the radio. For cars without a backup camera, you can add a rear camera plus there’s a second input for a nightvision camera or front camera.
The kit also provides high resolution video using the radio’s native resolution so maps and directions are easy to read, said NAV-TV. The touch screen response time is virtually instantaneous, claims the company.
For those cars without steering wheel controls, an external activation button is available. There’s also a traffic option for real time traffic reports.
The kit provides plug and play installation and is shipping in two different versions for the following vehicles:
