Apple is testing larger iPhone screens, and is looking at offering screens as large as 6 inches, said The Wall Street Journal citing sources familiar with the matter.
Currently, the iPhone screens measure in at 4 inches.
Apple’s experimentation with new screen sizes shouldn’t affect its product launch next Tuesday, September 10, when it is expected to introduce a new iPhone 5s with a fingerprint scanning function and a new cheaper iPhone 5c.
Apple’s component suppliers say the company is especially interested in a 4.8-inch display. But in recent months it has tested phones with screens from 4.8- to 6-inches.
