MTX Audio said it has improved its new car audio distribution model, making it simpler and cheaper for dealers to use.

MTX took the unusual step in January of pulling back from distributors and putting its inventory in the cloud.  Under the plan, retailers buy through an open distribution portal off the web where there is only one advertised price on goods.  The aim is to eliminate web discounting so retailers can tell consumers they offer the lowest price on MTX and keep profits up.

MTX Cloud CommerceWith the updates to the program, profit payments are paid back to the dealer in a week to 10 days, instead of 30-45 days. Also a new demo program is available for 50 percent off demo products.

Under the program, an MTX dealer gets his own microsite on the MTX web site and then he receives a check in about a week for profits on any order placed on that microsite.

The address of the microsite might be www.mtx/joescaraudio.com (sample)  The dealer can then buy demo products from the site and when he sells MTX products, he walks over to the computer and orders from his own MTX microsite.  The product can be shipped to the store or the customer.  He can also order inventory from his mini-site to keep on hand in the store.   He can also place an MTX banner on his existing, every-day web site to bring customers to his MTX microsite so that customers can order by themselves.

As long as the order is placed through his microsite, he gets the profit payment check.

Because the inventory is in the cloud, MTX said it helps stop discounting because there is no need for end-of-the-month discounts to clear inventory.

MTX also said it has lowered prices on MTX products by 40 percent by eliminating distributors and transshippers.

“Every dealer gets the same price no matter how much they buy,” it said in a sales video.

The company claims the current system of selling is outmoded because of Internet discounting.

The program has been renamed “Cloud Commerce.”
