Alpine Electronics showed at KnowledgeFest a new truck kit to fit its extra-large car radio into a typical dashboard.
It showed new Ford kits to ship in September that permit the company’s AV/radio with an 8 inch screen to fit in many Ford trucks and other Ford vehicles.
Alpine said its 8 inch radio, the INE-Z928HD, is being widely used in truck and SUVs and so it created the new kit, which allows installation in Ford F-150 and F-Series Superduty trucks, plus the Ford Explorer, Edge and Expedition as well as the Mustang, Fusion and Lincoln Navigator.
Of the 18 Perfect Fit kits available, the GM truck and SUV kits have been the number one sellers to date.
Truck owners tend to spend more on upgrading and accessorizing their vehicles, buying products like lift kits, bedliners and they are interested in customizing their trucks to be unique, said Alpine’s Steve Brown.
The KTX-FDB8 kit will ship in September at $30.
