Aamp has aired a consumer TV commercial test pilot showing the equivalent of Siri Eyes Free in the car.

The commercial is for the iSimple InSeam, a $189.95 device that began shipping this month.  The InSeam links the car radio and steering wheel controls to your phone so you get voice commands of music, texts, directions and other functions.

It works with many types of phones using Siri in iPhones and S Voice in some Samsung phones, for example.

Aamp is in the process of evaluating the success of the TV campaign, which ran this summer for 3 weeks in two markets  You can see the ad here

The 30-second spot shows how car connectivity can make your life better and safer.  The ads were tested in Oklahoma City, OK and Springfield, MO and aired during a wide variety of programming including news and sitcoms.

Aamp said the aim is to generate more business for its retailers, and it is evaluating the best way to achieve that.

InSeam installs in the back of the car radio using the antenna input and then works over FM modulation to connect to the steering wheel controls.  The phone then connects over Bluetooth so that music and audio plays through the car radio.  Users download an app and then use voice commands for Pandora, music, email texts, and  directions.

The product will be demonstrated to retailers at KnowledgeFest, which starts August 17 in Dallas.

Earlier this month we wrote about an ad for the Chevy Sonic featuring Siri Eyes Free and we suggested it would be nice to see an aftermarket product advertised on TV.
