The Honda Accord has been one of the most elusive cars for the remote start industry  because of its highly sophisticated 128-bit encryption.

Automotive Data Solutions (ADS)  recently became the first to crack the code allowing it to offer a remote start bypass module for the Accord, for a simpler installation.

With the ADS bypass, car owners don’t have to sacrifice an extra key that must be permanently installed in the car for remote start to work. The bypass also cuts installation time considerably, said ADS.

The bypass will work with the 2013 Honda Accord, and 2014 Acura RLX and MDX.

The new DL-HA6 firmware is now available for download to work with the following bypass products manufactured by ADS:

  • iDatalink Multi Series ADS-ALCA and BLADE-AL
  • Flashlogic FLCAN
  • Omegalink OL-MDB-ALL and OL-BLADE-AL

The Honda Accord is currently the top selling sedan in North America. ADS claims to be the only manufacturer to provide a bypass solution for this vehicle at the moment.

ADS will also be working on a complete t-harness remote start solution for late model Honda vehicles for Q4 2013.
