At the Geneva Motor Show Tuesday, TomTom announced it will provide a new in-car navigation system for Fiat, which will be part of the new Uconnect 5-inch Radio Nav infotainment system.
While TomTom has worked with Fiat in the past, this is the first time TomTom technology is offered as part of a Uconnect system.
It will appear first in the Fiat 500L, and then will roll out to other Fiat Group brands and models.
The system will include TomTom features such as IQ Routes, voice control and Advanced Lane Guidance. And it will use the TomTom user interface. But Continental developed the hardware for the system. Microsoft supplied the Windows Embedded Automotive operating system which allows the easy integration of third party software.
