Rockford Fosgate announced that it is now shipping upgraded Prime full range speakers and new 2013 Prime amplifiers.
The next generation of Rockford Fosgate Prime speakers offer a notable increase in power handling. The 2-way drivers have a horn loading design that provides a phase correct relationship with the mid and tweeter, for better off axis sound. The 3-way loudspeakers have a shallower tweeter mount of a half inch to fit more easily in door panels (and provide a cleaner look).
The speakers are Klippel-verified. Klippel testing, validation, and certification helps manufacture loudspeakers to precise standards.
The new Prime amplifiers include 6 models that round out a 10-model lineup.
The 2013 models are available in mono, stereo, 4-channel and 5-channel options.
“Our goal with the 2013 Prime amplifier line was to make them more installer friendly, better performing, and to make every model have a consistent cosmetic look,” said Theresa Hephner, Rockford’s senior director of product development and marketing.
The line has a common chassis design with more thermal mass per square inch and top mount controls (crossover, phase, input switch, gain control, and Punch EQ),. Also Punch Level Control is included in select models. The six new models also accept signal from low level sources via RCA or from high level speaker inputs via the included connector.
