Pacific Accessory Corporation has introduced the latest addition to its RadioPRO5 line of all-in-one radio replacement/steering wheel control kits, the RP5-GM41. Created to interface seamlessly with the computer data bus system in today’s most popular new Chevrolet models – the 2012/2013 Sonic and Spark – the RP5-GM41 retains important safety and convenience features such as OnStar, steering wheel controls and factory amplified audio systems (if equipped). Even better, it works right out of the box with most aftermarket headunits and retains SWC without any additional programming. MSRP for the RP5-GM41 is $229.95.
The RP5-GM41 allows an installer to replace the factory radio in select General Motors vehicles with 29-bit LAN v2 44-pin connector radios (most notably the Chevrolet Sonic and Chevrolet Spark) while retaining factory features such as OnStar, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls (SWC), and warning chimes. The RP5-GM41 also provides data bus driven outputs such as retained accessory power (RAP), vehicle speed sensor (VSS), illumination, reverse trigger and parking brake. The complete kit comes with a RadioPRO5 module, antenna adapter, vehicle connecting harness and SWC harness. No SWC programming is necessary, and the unit’s firmware can be easily updated at www.pac-audio.com using a PAC-UP USB adapter.
