Kicker will introduce at CES Tuesday a new CompR subwoofer, the next generation of its CompVR–its top selling woofer line.
The CompR offers a new impedance selector slider for changing voice coil impedance.
It also delivers higher power ratings and comes with stout push button wire terminals. No additional wiring is needed to switch between series or parallel configurations.
The subwoofers use steel baskets and a large-diameter, progressive-roll spider with Spiralead tinsel leads woven through. They also use a vented pole piece and bumped back plate tapered toward the edge to improve magnetic energy. The “bump” provides extra voice-coil clearance.
The speakers have dual voice coils and come in 8, 10, 12 and 15 inch sizes and handle from 400 to 1,200 watts depending on the model.
They will ship in Q1 at suggested retail prices from $129.95 to $299.95.
