Hyundai and Google announced Wednesday that Hyundai will integrate Google Maps into its US cars with Blue Link telematics.
Kia Motors also announced this year it will add Google Maps and Google Places to its UVO infotainment system beginning with the 2014 Kia Sorento.
Hyundai car radios will support features including “Send to Car,” Point of Interest Search and Local Search by Voice.
The system will be on display at CES in Las Vegas next week.
“Google is a leader and innovator in search, content and technology, offering incredible tools,” said Barry Ratzlaff, Director of Customer Connect at Hyundai Motor America. “…The integration of Google Maps APIs makes Blue Link even more effective. ”
Hyundai Blue Link was launched in 2011. It includes remote start and lock/unlock via a smartphone and cloud-based search by voice, as well as emergency assistance.
