Al & Ed’s Autosound opened a new franchise location—the first in its recent expansion effort to grow the chain– now at 20 stores.
The new location in Moorpark, CA celebrated its Grand Opening on Saturday, August 18.
The shop is incorporated into an existing auto repair and custom shop called Hi-Tech Automotive, which has been at the same location for 24 years. “I’d say they might know ‘just a few’ customers out there,” said Al & Ed’s Product Manager John Haynes.
“We really wanted to be an Al & Ed’s,” said Wahid Rafiq, owner of the Moorpark location. “I could have opened up a store under any name, but the Al & Ed’s program brings instant name recognition plus a host of programs to help my business get up and running.”
Al & Ed’s announced in March a program to expand the chain, after several years of belt tightening, due in part to the recent recession.
The chain helps retailers with “every aspect of owning a mobile electronics specialty business,” including purchasing, marketing, point-of-sale and business management software, said Haynes.
