CRUX, a maker  of car Bluetooth kits,  is entering the backup camera market with a new “Sightline” series of cameras custom fit for certain vehicles.

Crux logoThe first cameras will work with four late model Toyota vehicles.  Versions for Honda, Hyundai and Volkswagen vehicles will follow this fall, said CRUX.

“The Toyota Camry for 2012 and 2013 does not have the ability to put in a backup camera.  It’s not even available as a factory option. We were able to do it and it works with the factory navigation screen,” said National Sales Manager Mike Beyersdoerfer.

The Sightline cameras are aimed mainly at the expeditor market (sales to new car dealers).

CRUX’s Toyota backup camera includes nightvision and it automatically activates when the car goes into reverse.  It mounts in a bezel around the license plate of the car.   It is now shipping and makes its formal debut at KnowledgeFest beginning August 18.
