Rydeen Mobile Electronics has hired Walter Detlefsen to the new post of General Manager, as the company continues to grow.

“We feel the timing is right to bring someone of Walt’s caliber and experience aboard,” said Phil Maeda, president of Rydeen. “We’ve made great strides for a company that’s been in business for only three years… Walt will be instrumental in helping us expand our distribution base by working closely with our current in-house sales team and reps in the field.”
Detlefsen is a 25-year industry veteran who began his career with Audiovox as a regional salesperson in 1987, and rose through the ranks to become a group assistant vice president.
Most recently he served as national sales manager for Valor Multimedia.
“I’ve watched Rydeen grow from selling a smattering of PNDs to probably the most recognized supplier of mirror-based navigation and Bluetooth solutions in the aftermarket,” said Detlefsen. “The management team shows the drive to succeed regardless of what the economy is doing, and it shows. I am just glad to be part of the team and lend my experience to the effort.”
Rydeen is currently conducting a nationwide training tour, showing retailers how to sell and install its new GPS/mirror MN312S and several of the company’s back-up camera and sensor products. The current leg of the tour, from August 5 through August 17, will include most of the East Coast, from New England to Georgia.
