Autonet Joined by Sprint on Chrysler’s Uconnect

Sprint announced that it will provide wireless service for Chrysler’s Uconnect program, joining Autonet Mobile, which  continues as a wireless supplier for the Uconnect infotainment system.

Chrysler offers two wireless programs including one for the head unit which can connect to Internet radio, and a second telematics program that Autonet supplies which delivers WiFi and phone based Apps.

Autonet Mobile offers a wireless hotspot for Chrysler and other auto makers that allows car passengers to connect to their mobile gadgets such as laptops and gaming devices via WiFi.

Sprint gave no specifics on its role in the Uconnect wireless program except to say it would provide “a robust wireless engine”  for Chrysler Group’s Uconnect program,” and that it’s committed “to the delivery of  advanced, next-generation connected vehicle and telematics services.”

Autonet Mobile also has partnerships with Mercedes, General Motors and Subaru.
