Smartphone owners now outnumber the 41 percent of U.S. adults who own a more basic cellphone, according to a new study from Pew Research. Smartphone ownership among adults is presently up to 46 percent.
The mix of Android and iPhone ownership is fairly close, while BlackBerry ownership continues to slide.
- Android devices are used by 20% of cell owners, up from 15% in May 2011
- iPhones are used by 19% of cell owners, up from 10% in May 2011
- Blackberries are used by 6% of cell owners, down from 10% in May 2011
