Audiovox and DICE have formed a partnership where Audiovox will distribute, market, and sell DICE car audio kits, while DICE will continue to focus on engineering and developing new products.
DICE car kits will be sold under the “Audiovox Driven by DICE” brand effective February 1.
The partnership puts Audiovox in the OEM integration market. For DICE, the deal creates a broader distribution base for its car kits, which include the MediaBridge, Duo and G2 lines.
“DICE remains DICE but we’re reinventing the company to be a creative design and engineering company to provide integration products,” said DICE’s Steve Witt.
DICE is one of the few companies offering aftermarket Internet Radio kits.
New at CES under the Audiovox Driven by DICE brand is one of the first AV-out cradles for use with rear seat entertainment systems. Parents can dock their iPhone in the cradle to play videos stored on the device through the back seat video system. The G2 DCR-200 supports an iPod or iPhone and unlocks video stored on them through an authentication chip.
Also, a new product through the DICE-Audiovox partnership will be sold under the Jensen brand. It’s a one-button Bluetooth visor kit with a built-in mic. It clips on the visor to permit hands free calling with simple, one-button operation. It’s targeted for April release at $79.95.
