Chrysler has been busy issuing several technical service bulletins for its Uconnect car radio system, so NAV-TV has released a software update for its UCI-11C rear view camera/navigation module that works with Uconnect radios.

The new update improves the performance of the UCI-11C and is also a “work around” to address issues caused if the consumer does not take his car into to be serviced with the technical service bulletin update.   The update applies to Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Fiat Freemont and Dodge Journey automobiles.

Presently there are at least 8 Technical Service Bulletins from Chrysler Corporation. Auto manufacturers issue them to address problems in their vehicle. As they are not a “recall” consumers often aren’t aware of problems until there’s a malfunction, but when they bring their car in for routine maintenance the car dealer will perform the update outlined in the bulletin.

NAV-TV’s update to accommodate the Chrysler updates is free and may be downloaded at http://www.navtv.com/SW/Software_Updates/UCI-11C%20Updater%2012-13-11.zip.

NAV-TV strongly recommends that both the Technical Service Bulletin updates and UCI-11C updates be performed to ensure long-term and proper operation of the car radio and aftermarket equipment.

To determine if your vehicle is affected, contact your local dealership and they can look up any opened service bulletin  for your vehicle by your car’s VIN number.

Dealers may also call NAV-TV’s technical support department at 1-866-477-3336 x 2 Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm EST.
